‘Yes please’: Some Chelsea fans ecstatic at what the club are reportedly planning on doing

The Chelsea Chronicle

A section of Chelsea supporters on social media were over the moon to learn about the reported proposal to extend Harvey Vale’s contract.

According to The Athletic, talks over a new deal for the teenager began last month, with an initial offer already in discussion.

Vale’s agreement doesn’t expire until June 2023, but the Blues will be eager not to lose another of their shining academy talents.

Cobham exodus

Stamford Bridge has already waved farewell to the likes of Tino Livramento, Dynel Simeu, Lewis Bate, Myles Peart-Harris and Pierre Ekwah.

Not to mention overseeing the sales of Fikayo Tomori, Marc Guehi and Tammy Abraham in recent times.

Conor Gallagher, Billy Gilmour, Tino Anjorin and Armando Broja also all left on loan over the summer.

Letting Cobham’s current star pupil slip through the net would be another poor piece of business from the board.

Luckily, Chelsea appear to be moving in the right direction with Vale’s future.

This is certainly the view from the fan’s perspective, who shared their delight over the 18-year-old’s potential long-term allegiance.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Vale involved

Chelsea have already indicated their intent towards tying down Vale by allowing him to rub shoulders with the first team.

The versatile midfielder has been included in two of the last three senior match-day squads.

He sat on the bench during the Blues Carabao Cup win over Southampton, then did the same last night for the Champions League away fixture against Malmo.

Despite not playing a single minute, the experience alone of working with Thomas Tuchel’s men will have filled Vale with joy.

If he sticks around, there should be plenty more where that came from
