Yaya Toure spent three years at the Camp Nou
stadium. Even though it was a rather short period, the
Ivorian appears to remain a die-hard Blaugrana.
When asked on his five best teammates, Toure
proudly named five Barcelona legends.
Marca quote the Ivorian as saying: “The best five
players I’ve played with? Messi, Henry, Eto’o, Iniesta
and Xavi. In that era, they were unbeatable.”
Toure also picked Camp Nou as his favourite
stadium, adding: “I’m grateful for that era of my life.”
In the same interview, Toure confessed that the
Clasico fixtures were bigger than the Manchester
derby. He added that Barca’s unforgettable 6-2
Clasico win at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 was his
most memorable football game.
Toure played for Barca between 2007 and 2010.
He won the Champions League in 2009.
Later, he spent eight years at Manchester City after
joining them for €30million in July 2010.
After short spells in Greece and China, Toure is
currently without a club.
He hasn’t confirmed his retirement yet even though
the iconic midfielder will turn 37 next month.
At Barca, Toure scored six goals in 118 matches.
At City, he netted 79 times in 316 appearances.
