Timo Werner’s confidence is on fire he is quite simply unstoppable.

He hasn’t had the best of starts to life in the Premier League with inconsistent performances and many easy chances missed. But sometimes players simply just need time to adapt.

I remember a certain other striker who didn’t have the best first season at Chelsea when he joined, but he went on to become the legend that is Didier Drogba.

Werner is a confidence player lets be honest. He was missing chances and failing to adapt to a new league in a new country.

His head space was not right and he was receiving lots of criticism and pressure from outside.

But now that Romelu Lukaku has arrived at Chelsea, the pressure on Werner has dropped slightly to be Chelsea’s main source of goals, and I think this has helped Werner.

When he has played for Chelsea so far this season he is starting to look like a player with belief in his own ability, but a player who is not weighted down by as much pressure anymore.

We are starting to see the Timo Werner that we thought we had signed from RB Leipzig last summer. His confidence is starting to evidently return and that means bad news for the rest of the Premier League.

When Werner is on fire he is quite simply unstoppable. His movement and pace has always been there, but he has been over-thinking chances in front of goal.

But right now he seems to be very carefree (fittingly) and is not letting things get on top of him.

He is casually turning out believing in himself and playing with a real desire to succeed.

It’s early doors still of course, and we cannot claim that Werner is a Chelsea success yet,

but his form in recent matches and especially for Germany on the last two international breaks, will go a long way in allowing us Chelsea fans to see the real Timo Werner.
