Chelsea are 1-0 down against Juventus, and playing poorly once again.
Despite some good results earlier in the month Thomas Tuchel’s team were playing badly, and they were found out by Manchester City at the weekend.
Now it’s Juve taking advantage of Chelsea’s average performances, and Tuchel has been forced to respond.
He made one change at half time, and then followed with another 3 not long after. Ben Chilwell’s introduction was soon followed by the addition of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi coming on.
Those four changes show you just how frustrated he must be by how his team are playing. It’s yet to make a difference, but it’s an obvious display of Tuchel’s displeasure at the individual performances on the pitch tonight.
There’s plenty of time to turn things around, but it seems likely that this precipitates changes at the weekend too, after another disappointing game.
