‘This Is A Complete Waste Of Money’ – Tuchel Cries Out Amid Abramovich And Marina Granovskaia’s January Plan To Lavish £190Million On Two ‘Over-Rated’ Players

Chelsea have been praised for their business in the transfer market in recent years, but they may be about to squander £190million.

The Blues have set the benchmark in the Premier League this season with last weekend’s 7-0 thumping over Norwich keeping them top of the table.

Mason Mount’s hat-trick helped ease any fears that Chelsea would struggle for goals without Romelu Lukaku.

Only Liverpool have scored more than Chelsea’s 23 goals through nine league matches.

But more impressive has been their defensive record with Tuchel’s side conceding just three times so far.

The German head coach shifted Chelsea to a back three when he took over from Frank Lampard back in January.

The move has made Chelsea one of the toughest teams to break down in European football and played a huge role in helping them win the Champions League last season.

Key to their success at the back has also been the resurgence of Antonio Rudiger, who was frozen out by Lampard before his dismissal.

Andreas Christensen has also ensured he’s one of the first names on the team sheet with his assured performances at the back.

But both players could potentially leave Chelsea as free agents next summer with their contract expiring at the end of the season.

Negotiations haven’t gone to plan so far with the defensive duo both holding out for more lucrative offers.

Reports indicate that they’re willing to wait and if Chelsea don’t meet their demands then they’d be willing to look elsewhere.

Eurosport now claim that Chelsea are eyeing moves for Matthijs De Ligt and Jules Kounde, which could in the region of £190million.

That could be an indication that Chelsea have given up hope of signing Rudiger and Christensen to new deals.

According to Transfermarkt, Christensen and Rudiger are both valued at £31.5m on current form, although Chelsea would highly unlikely to be able demands anywhere close to that figure in January due to their contract situations.

Letting both leave as free agents could prove a disaster for Chelsea as they would need to find money elsewhere to help fund improvements to Tuchel’s squad.

Kounde was Chelsea’s top defensive target in the summer, but they were reluctant to meet Sevilla’s demands, and after such fantastic defensive setup thus far this season the west Londoners could be said to be doing just fine without his services.

Thomas Tuchel nevertheless is understood to be very much bent on seeing Rudiger and Christensen stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this season, and is in constant talks with Rudiger to stay despite his demands thus far gone unheeded.

Tuchel is reportedly against the signing of the duo especially Matias DeLigt with Rudiger in blistering form this season for the Blues.
