Superagent Jorge Mendes has offered the services of Ansu Fati to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
Within the club, this move is seen as a manoeuvre to pressurise the club into providing the young star with a better contract in his upcoming renewal.
Since his debut at the age of 16, young Fati has been one of Barcelona’s biggest revelations. Moreover, he has also gone on to become one of the faces of the League and has become a household name within no time.
The 18-year-old has broken record after record for the Catalan kings. He also went on to become the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history when he scored against Inter Milan in Italy.
However, an unfortunate injury close to a year ago forced the young star to stay on the sidelines for a long time.
With his recovery finally catching pace, the club hopes for Fati to feature once again by the end of the month. His reintroduction will be slow and phased, yet the hope is that he will return to his complete prowess.
Needless to say, Barcelona has the teenager in their long term plans. It was with that very intention that he was also given the legendary number 10 after Lionel Messi.
His contract renewal is of utmost priority for the Blaugrana. Mendes is using this helplessness of the club against them to fetch a more lucrative contract for his client.
Nevertheless, the economic crisis in the club is still not fixed. It remains to be seen in which direction the talks will proceed. What did you think of this articleGoodExcellent
