Sergi Roberto contract extension negotiation with Barcelona will start from scratch after it hit a dead-end in recent weeks, according to Periodista.
The clubs initially agreed on a 2-year extension with the midfielder, however, Roberto and his entourage backtracked when they discovered there was a 50% wage cut on his salary.
The Blaugrana improved their offer but failed to convince the 29-year-old.
Barca will try again with a better offer, which may be their final attempt to keep the player.
As a reminder, Roberto will be a free agent next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal with Barca.
