Pedri had just 3 training sessions with the group before he was rushed back by Ronald Koeman to feature in the Benfica game, Diario AS claim.
To be fully fit, the 18-year-old needed to have 10 sessions.
“Pedri relapsing after being rushed straight back into the starting line-up by Koeman. The worst part? None of us are even surprised by this news. The same happened with Alba,” fan account TalkFCB tweets.
Indeed, we’ve seen lots of examples when a player, who was doubtful for the game, made the starting eleven despite all odds – remember Gerard Pique who’s reportedly ready to take injections all the time when Koeman needs him?
Of course, this is also a dig at the club’s medical staff who probably should’ve avoided the risk of Pedri’s relapse in the Benfica game.
