Newcastle United want to sign Clement Lenglet from Barcelona in January to help improve their defence, claims Sport.
The Premier League giants have recently been taken over by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) and have reportedly €200m to spend in the summer.
Newcastle want to bring in a left-footed defender who can perform immediately and won’t be too expensive.
Barca are going to try and sell Lenglet in the winter transfer window, so they’re likely to make a deal with Newcastle if approach with an offer.
Lenglet has lost his place at Barca this season, having only made 4 appearances as a substitute so far.
