In a bid to cement the bond that exists between the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) and the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives (NASWA), the National President NAOWA Mrs Fati Attahiru has charged NASWA members to brace up to compete structurally with NAOWA.
She gave the charge recently when she organised an interactive session where the women had opportunity to ask questions and get first hand information about the associations and other issues bothering them in the Barracks.
During the session, Mrs Attahiru encouraged the women to be willing to accept and key into the waste to wealth initiative and other empowerment programmes which when fully utilised can be a good source of income to them and also curb idleness in the Barracks.
In her vote of thanks on behalf of the NASWA members, MrsTakuta
Shanga appreciated the NAOWA President for her concern about the
association and for always putting thier welfare first even within the
shortest period she assumed office.
The programme which took place at the NAOWA Event Centre Mambila
Barracks Abuja had wives of Principal Staff Officers of Army
Headquarters, other NAOWA members and NASWA members from all the
Army Formations and Units within the FCT.
The event featured presentation of food items, discussions and
group photographs amongst others.
