Mrs Attahiru performed the ground breaking ceremony

The National President NAOWA Mrs Fati Attahiru has assured widows in 2 Division Nigerian Army Ibadan of her continuous support. She gave the assurance during a charity outreach she organised in Odogbo Barracks as part of her familiarisation visit to the Division. Donating token and food items to widows and soldiers’ wives, Mrs Attahiru said she would do her best to ensure widows of fallen heroes are not forgotten.

Earlier, the National President who paid courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen GU Chibuisi said she was delighted to be in 2 Div Ibadan marking her maiden visit to formations in South West.

She said her purpose of visit was to intimate the GOC on NAOWA projects

, brief on her initiatives as well as request the GOC to key into the plans at

Divisional, Brigade and Battalion levels.

Mrs Attahiru further commended 2 Div NAOWA for the spirit of continuity

demonstrated by chairpersons of the chapter.

Responding, the GOC Maj Gen GU Chibuisi appreciated the National

President for leading such a delegation to 2 Division Nigerian Army. Gen

Chibuisi also commended the National President NAOWA for her plans for

widows, waste to wealth initiative, women and youth empowerment as

well as mental health programme, assuring her of 2 Division’s continuous support.

During the visit, Mrs Attahiru performed the ground breaking ceremony of

NAOWA skills acquisition centre Odogbo Barracks, commissioning of

blocks of accommodation in officers’ quarters, classrooms and

playground in NAOWA nursery and primary school Mokola as well as the

remodeled NAOWA Secretariat in Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment Ibadan.
