Marina Granovskaia outlines two reasons that helped Trevoh Chalobah secure new Chelsea contract


Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has listed two attributes that explain just why Trevoh Chalobah has been rewarded with a new long-term contract.

Chalobah22, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the European Champions after his stellar start to the 2021/22 campaign.

His induction in the deep end against Villarreal in the Super Cup, coupled with other impressive pre-season performances, meant that Granovskaia and ThomasTuchel had agreed to keep the defender in the playing squad for the 2021/22 campaign despite strong loan rumours.

That faith shown in Chalobah has seen him produce remarkable displays in a number of games this summer with his debut goal against Crystal Palace and most recent header against Southampton the two most memorable moments for the ex-Huddersfield Town loanee, who has taken to the Premier League like a duck into water.

She told the Chelsea FC website: “To see Trevoh joining so many of his fellow Academy graduates in the men’s first team is something we are exceptionally proud of as a Club.
