Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi had one standout 2021 Copa America with the Argentina national team. The Argentine scored four goals in the tournament and played a pivotal role in helping the team finally win another Copa America.
At the moment, Messi stands at 76 career international goals, which ranks behind former Brazilian national team star Pele (77) for the most ever among CONMEBOL players.

Messi is slated to return to action with the Argentine national team in September, where he will join the side for a pair of 2022 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Brazil and Venezuela.
All Messi needs is two goals to break this record, which would be just another milestone in his historic career with the Argentine national team.
Before Messi gets the chance to break this record, he is on par to make his debut with PSG, which may come in the team’s upcoming Ligue 1 home fixture against Reims.
