Chelsea have been in sensational form this season and extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday as they defeated Newcastle.
Reece James struck a double in the second half before Jorginho wrapped up the victory from the penalty spot.
Jorginho produced another magnificent performance during the clash at St James’ Park and has now revealed that boss Thomas Tuchel has helped the Blues become more ruthless since he took the helm.
“We need to try to win every single game and not drop points in these kind of games,” Jorginho admitted after his side recorded their eighth league victory of the campaign.
“Maybe we missed that in the last two or three years.”
Few could argue with the Italy midfielder’s assessment of the Chelsea team under Tuchel.
The German manager led his side to Champions League glory just four months after arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho explains what Thomas Tuchel has done at Chelsea that Frank Lampard couldn’t.
And he has masterminded an assault on the Premier League title this term, with the Blues three points clear at the top of the table.
Tuchel has built a strong defensive unit by utilising a back three and his side have conceded just three times in the top-flight this season.
At the other end of the pitch, Chelsea’s 26 league goals is bettered only by Liverpool.
And Jorginho admits the Blues players are concentrating solely on their own efforts rather than those of their rivals.
