John Terry has praised Thiago Silva’s performance on his Instagram story after Chelsea beat Tottenham 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
It started brightly for Tottenham during the opening 20 minutes, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side playing with speed and aggression.
Whilst Spurs weren’t producing clear-cut chances, they were showing enough encouraging signs to get their home crowd in full voice from the get-go
But, during the second period, when Thomas Tuchel switched it from a tactical standpoint by bringing on N’Golo Kante, it changed the course of the game.
Kante’s presence in the middle of park, ability to win the ground duels, stop Spurs from attacking Chelsea’s penalty area and driving his team further up the pitch, was the game-changer.
Chelsea legend Terry was watching on from home and was pleased with what he was seeing by reacting on his Instagram story.
Well, it’s going wrong pretty quickly for Nuno Espirito Santo, who started off the season with three wins from three.
But not only are the recent results going against them, but the performances are also worrying.
Nuno won’t last long if it continues in this manner because, it needs to be remembered that he wasn’t even the first choice to replace Jose Mourinho.
Some would even question whether he was the fifth choice because Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy took a long while to bring in a new coach.
Either way, whilst Chelsea are on cloud nine, their London rivals are on the floor and they need picking up.
