In a recent interview with the Danish media, Brentford boss Thomas Frank talks about several topics, including Andreas Christensen.
A surprise vital part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans after being somewhat shunned by then-coach Frank Lampard, the Dane seems close to penning a new contract at the club and is earning plenty of plaudits for his showings, both with the Stamford Bridge outfit and the Denmark national team.
Having worked with the player at the youth level when he was in charge of the country’s youth teams, Frank knows Andreas well and is simply thrilled at how the player’s development is going.
Relayed by Bold, Thomas said: “[Christensen] is one of the best defenders in the world at the moment.
“He has always been enormously intelligent on the pitch, meaning very quick to anticipate all situations offensively and defensively.
“He is technically hugely strong for a defender in terms of bringing the ball forward, passing and making good choices. He is also foresighted and fast at the same time, so it’s almost the complete package”.
Signing for the Premier League outfit back in 2012 when he arrived from Brondby’s Under-17s, Christensen has made 135 appearances across all competitions, grabbing one assist along the way.
