Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton suggested that Reece James is the cleanest connector of a football right now in the Premier League.
Speaking on the BBC Football Daily podcast, Sutton proposed there are few finer finishers in the division currently than the Blues defender.
Based on recent evidence, it’s hard to argue against this sentiment.
Reece’s rockets
James has been in red hot form lately, scoring three times in the last two league outings.

His delicate dink during the 7-0 humbling of Norwich City confirmed his composure in front of goal.
The 21-year-old’s wonderful brace away to Newcastle United highlighted how well he’d refined his shooting technique.
The first – a rising, powerful left-footed drive into the top corner – was arguably surpassed by his second, an instinctive smash that had the net rippling for quite a while.
“His goals at the weekend. Two of the purest strikes. One left-foot, one right-foot. Is there a better striker of the ball in the Premier League than Reece James?”, pondered Sutton.

Those on target
Of course, some of the sharpest-shooters in the division might have something to say about that.
Mohamed Salah would be the first to debate such a statement, followed perhaps by Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane.

Cristiano Ronaldo certainly knows where the back of the net is.
Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford can blast a ball.
Even within Chelsea’s ranks, they might put themselves ahead of their teammate.
Romelu Lukaku for one, Marcos Alonso another.

Ben Chilwell’s form in the final third puts him pretty high up the rankings.
Mason Mount more often than not finds the target with his efforts.
However, James should definitely be in the conversation for the top-flight’s hardest hitters.
