Chelsea are reportedly interested in a player that could replace Saul Niguez at Stamford Bridge.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are one of two clubs in England potentially interested in trying to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the New Year.
It is understood that Chelsea, along with Premier League rivals Newcastle United, are two suitors for the 26-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.
The report explains the Blues view him as someone that could potentially replace midfielder Saul Niguez, who may see his loan spell in West London prematurely ended.
Saul, 26, has had a difficult few months in Thomas Tuchel’s squad since a move on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Rabiot, who earns £175000-a-week, is a left-footed midfielder struggling to nail down a spot in the starting line-up for Italian giants Juventus.
He’s played a lot of minutes in an unfamiliar wide role this season for his club.
However, he still plays in the centre of the park when representing World Cup champions France on the international stage.
In fact, he scored at the weekend for the French in an 8-0 win against Kazakhstan.
