Werner pulled up in the first half of Chelsea’s 4-0 Champions League win over Malmo on 20 October.
Fellow striker Romelu Lukaku broke down in the same match with what appeared to be a twisted ankle.
Thomas Tuchel told Chelsea’s media team on 22 October that Werner will be out for the “next two games for sure” but declined to give any further info.
Dinnery explains that the worst-case scenario could see the 25-year-old German striker go under the knife.
