Chelsea make first move to sign player with ‘unbelievable speed’, he’s the top scorer in his league

Chelsea are being linked in latest transfer rumours with an in-form striker tearing up his league.

RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi, 19, is the player in the spotlight.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea have already made contact with the teenager’s representatives. In addition, Inter Milan are interested in him.

The report explains that Salzburg may look to sell their prized asset next summer when there may be a queue of clubs trying to sign him.

Adeyemi is the top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga this season with 11 goals in just 13 league appearances. Also, the young striker has four goals in the Champions League this campaign, including three in the group stage phase.

Who is Salzburg’s goal machine?

Adeyemi is currently following in the footsteps of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, who was lethal at Salzburg before a big move away.

Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund said in January 2020 that Adeyemi has “unbelievable speed”.

He is a left-footed youngster that is quick with the ball at his feet and extremely agile. However, he’s got a powerful finish on him that makes him a dangerous centre-forward.

The Germany international, who scored on his senior debut for his country, is starting to fill out and looks a real force this season.

Do Chelsea need him?

Of course, Chelsea should always be on the search for the best young talents across the globe.

If Salzburg look to cash in on Adeyemi at the end of the season, Chelsea are right to throw their name into the hat for someone with immense potential.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues do already have a lot of talent in attack, though.

Romelu Lukaku joined in the summer to be the leading number nine at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner can play down the middle, too.

It’s worth noting that Barcelona has been linked with a move for Werner.

Meanwhile, Tuchel recently sent a message to Werner and Havertz by saying the adjustment phase is over  as they look to impress during their second seasons with Chelsea.
