Former Chelsea defender, John Terry, has taken a dig at Harry Maguire’s critics, after the England International recently overtook him to become the Three Lions’ highest scoring centre back.
Maguire opened the scoring, as England put 10 behind San Marino on Tuesday — his second goal in two games
Amid the many criticisms he’s had to suffer this season.
The United centre back was on target during England’s 5-0 win over Albania last weekend
After which he incurred the wrath of Roy Keane
Who didn’t hold back in launching an attack against his celebration after scoring.
Keane slammed Maguire for insinuating he was ‘silencing’
His critics by cupping his ears after scoring a behaviour he termed ’embarrassing’.
But Terry, clearly wasn’t pleased with Keane’s comments
With the former Chelsea man taking to Twitter to take a veiled dig at him.
In celebration of Maguire’s goal against San Marino, Terry posted a tweet that read, ‘@HarryMaguire93 Congratulations mate
@England Highest scoring defender
Let’s see if a few of these pundits talk about that.’
Former Aston Villa man, Gabriel Agbonlahor, and England boss, Gareth Southgate
have also defended Maguire’s celebration against Albania, as they both slammed Keane for ‘bullying’ him.
