There was a war of words between Ronald Koeman and an unnamed high-ranking member of the Barcelona squad during the game against Benfica in Portugal, according to Sport.
It is said that the argument didn’t escalate, but it depicts the volatile state of the Barcelona dressing. Koeman has probably lost it.
The player in question could be Gerard Pique who was subbed off after just 33 minutes into the match.
After the Benfica defeat, Koeman claimed the players support him; although it was later revealed he played a formation which the players hadn’t practised.
Defeat to Atletico Madrid may well spell the end of Koeman’s time as Barca gaffer.
