Dani Alves is back at Barcelona, it has been confirmed.
Xavi has given the green light for the 38-year-old’s return.
The full-back won’t be able to play until January though
Here’s how Barcelona could line-up with Alves in the starting XI next year:
3-4-3
Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen – Garcia, Pique, Araujo – Alba, Pedri, De Jong, Alves – Ansu, Memphis, Dembele
If Xavi decides to play a 3-4-3, as has been widely rumoured, Alves could come in as a wingback on occasion.
That would allow Barca to play with 3 centre-half, while overloading the flanks with the wingbacks joining the attack.
4-3-3
Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen – Alba, Pique, Araujo – Alves, Pedri, De Jong, Busquets – Ansu, Memphis, Dembele
A more balanced 4-3-3 could also suit Alves. The former Juventus defender could play as a traditional full-back for Barcelona.
It must be noted that Alves won’t be expected to start or play a lot of games for Barca given his age
