Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has said he ‘wants to cry’ as Liverpool star Mohamed Salah breaks his records, but isn’t surprised at his former teammate’s world-class form.
Drogba’s 104 goals stood as a Premier League record for an African player for more than six years, but Salah has since stolen the crown and currently has 108 goals.

The Egyptian king has scored 11 times in 12 league games this season, and this has led some to call him the best player in the world on current form.
It hasn’t always gone so swimmingly for Salah though, who joined Chelsea from Basel in 2014 for £11million, but only made 19 appearances before moving to Serie A side Roma.
Drogba believes Salah will knock his old record out of the park, telling former Egypt international and Tottenham striker, Mido, what a difficult watch it has been.
“He’s going to destroy my record,” Drogba said. “Oh my god, I want to cry.”
