£100,000-a-week centre-back set to sign new contract with Chelsea

The London giants centre-back Antonio Rudiger has spoken about his deal situation with the PL leaders.

Antonio, who was on the peripheral at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard, has been one of the finest centre-backs in world football this calendar year.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, his deal is due to expire in the summer of 2022, meaning he is only two months away from being free to negotiate pre-contract deals.

On the back of the hugely successful year, Rudiger’s had, you imagine there’d be no shortage of interest in signing Antonio, who is also a key figure for the German national team.

However, it sounds as though the German defender will take some convincing to leave Chelsea. Rudiger sounds as though he’s content with life as it is now.

The German centre-back appears to be keen to distance himself from the talk surrounding his deal.

Germany international insists it’s a matter for his agent and the club.

Speculation surrounding Antonio’s future has been intensifying, but the player himself sounds relaxed.

The Blues fans don’t appear to have anything to fear just yet.

That said, Antonio is not the only Chelsea defender out of deal in the summer.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva’s futures are all also unresolved.
